SOCKY PRIVACY POLICY

Curious Media, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information collected through Socky (“Socky,” the “App,” or the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information Socky collects, how we use and share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to users.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When an account is created, Socky collects:

Socky may collect and store content submitted or created for a user’s private puppet library, including:

Socky does not save completed performance videos or performance audio to the user’s account. Users may download completed productions directly to their device.

User puppet libraries are private and are not publicly browsable by other Socky users.

Face Data

Socky may use the device camera with Apple’s on-device Vision face-landmark detection when a user chooses Face mode or Scale With Face. This processing measures mouth openness and face position so a puppet can follow the user’s face. Face landmarks and camera frames from this feature are processed only on the device, are not stored, and are not shared with Curious Media or any third party. This is not Face ID and is not used to identify a person.

Device and Usage Information

Socky may automatically collect technical and usage information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, market, and improve the App. This may include device information, operating-system information, IP address, app activity, diagnostics, and feature usage.

3. Artificial Intelligence

Certain optional Socky features use artificial intelligence or automated processing to provide creative functionality and support content moderation.

Curious Media, Inc. does not independently use User Content to train artificial-intelligence models. However, third-party AI providers may process User Content according to their applicable terms. Under Runway's Standard service terms, this may include using submitted content and generated outputs to develop, improve, or train Runway's artificial-intelligence technologies.

When a user chooses to generate an image or video, Socky asks permission in the App before sending data to third-party AI services. If the user allows it, Socky sends the applicable text prompt and any attached image to Runway through Curious Media’s Runway account to provide the requested feature, and sends the same content to Google Gemini (via Firebase AI) to screen for disallowed content. Generated images are also screened by Gemini before they are shown. That permission covers both Runway and Gemini.

When a user shares or saves a performance, Socky asks permission before sending the audio from that video to Google Gemini for the same screening. That permission covers Gemini only.

Users who do not provide permission may continue using Socky’s other features. Generate, share, and save actions that require these services will not proceed until permission is granted.

Socky users do not establish individual Runway or Gemini accounts, and these providers do not maintain this information as part of a separate account or profile for the Socky user.

Socky deletes its reference to a Runway generation after 61 days. Related materials may remain within Curious Media’s Runway account according to Runway’s applicable retention practices.

4. Children's Privacy

Socky is a creative application designed with adults and families in mind. Socky accounts are intended to be created and controlled by a parent, legal guardian, or other eligible adult account holder.

An adult account holder may allow a child to use Socky under the adult’s supervision. The adult account holder is responsible for the child’s use of the App and for information submitted through the account.

Children should not create Socky accounts or submit personal information independently.

We may share information with service providers that perform services on our behalf, including:

These service providers may process information to provide services to Socky and for other purposes permitted under their applicable terms and agreements, as described in this Privacy Policy. We require service providers to handle information consistent with applicable legal and contractual requirements.

We do not sell users’ personal information.

7. Content Moderation and Safety

Socky uses Google Gemini to screen text prompts, images, generated content, and recorded performance audio for content moderation and safety purposes.

These systems may block content that is inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with Socky’s content standards. If a moderation check cannot be completed, Socky may block the prompt or generated result.

Information may be processed when necessary to perform these safety functions.

8. User Content and AI Training

Users retain ownership of their original User Content, subject to the Socky EULA.

Socky may process User Content as necessary to operate and provide the Services.

Curious Media, Inc. does not independently use User Content to train AI models. Certain third-party AI providers may use submitted content or generated outputs to develop, improve, or train their technologies according to their applicable terms, as described in Section 3.

Socky's use of User Content for marketing or promotional purposes will be governed by the Socky EULA and applicable user permissions.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Socky, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and satisfy applicable legal or business requirements.

Puppet thumbnails and short puppet video files stored in Firebase are generally retained while the user’s account remains active. Socky does not retain completed performance videos or performance audio in the user’s account.

Socky generally deletes its reference to a Runway AI generation after 61 days. Related materials may remain within Curious Media’s Runway account according to Runway’s applicable retention practices.

When a user deletes their Socky account, associated account information and User Content stored in Firebase are deleted. Certain information may be retained when necessary to comply with legal obligations, maintain transaction or financial records, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Socky may retain anonymized transaction records after account deletion.

10. Account and Data Deletion

Users may initiate deletion of their Socky account and associated personal information through the Delete Account option within the App.

When an account is deleted, applicable account information and User Content are removed according to the retention practices described above.

Deleting a Socky account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Users must separately manage or cancel subscriptions through the applicable App Store.

Users may also request account deletion through Socky's account-deletion webpage.

11. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.

However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Third-Party Services

Socky may rely on third-party services to provide certain functionality.

Those providers may process information in connection with the services they provide to Socky and according to their applicable agreements, terms, and privacy practices.

Content that a user exports from Socky and shares through another service or platform is subject to that third party's privacy practices.

Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
